Google Sky Map

What can I say? If people want me to continue the development of PlanetariaX, drop me a line, but I don't think I'm going to be able to compete with the big G's Sky Map anymore.

If you think I should continue, let me know ... otherwise, I will bow out now ...

  1. I hope you keep it going. Your night mode is far superior to Sky Map's. Red is much better for the eyes than just dimming the brightness. The only 2 things that I would like to see changed is a larger Messier catalog and better tracking (with my G1 the directions are always off on PLanetariaX, but that's probably not the program). If you could import a good deep sky listing, this would be my go to.

  2. Definitely keep it going. I didn't even know about this app since you weren't on the Google Market. I just happened to do a Google search on Android Astronomy apps and somehow happened to stumble upon a link at http://handheld.softpedia.com. Your app positively blows Sky Maps away. Put it on the Market and people would pay for it. I definitely would.

  3. Ok. So I just checked because another site mentioned it being on the Android Market. Did a specific search by name and found it. For some reason the app is not listed under astronomy apps and even doing a search on the word planet brings up other apps having nothing to do with astronomy. I'll email the developer because it would be a shame if he stops development because no one can find his app.
